Why do creationists and evolutionists fight?

when the chances of there being a god and a big bang are about the same... well because frankly we were never there to see the big bang and we were never there to see God create the earth and we've seen no evolution ever happen! and we've never seen God do anything! ( well actually we've seen him do ALOT of stuff ) hmmmm.... oh well
