How important are the SAT's?

I want to become a vet. I was just wondering if you could be excepted into college (specifically UF in Florida) if you fail the SAT's. I'm only in the 10th grade, and I'm a bit of a pessimistic, but the PSAT was hard and I don't think I can go to vet school or be excepted to medical school if I fail.
