first impressions are important, but it also has to do with how two people connect through interaction. for example, if a guy looks at a girl and is impressed, but when they actually talk, he discovers they have nothing in common, that first impression means nothing. likewise, a guy could be really irritated by a girl the first time they meet, but end up developing feelings for her as time goes on. first impressions are not the most important thing, but it helps to make a good one. it makes people want to know you better, and that's where the real connection comes from.
