What are the best tyres for my MGTF?

I need to replace the front tyres on my 2002 MGTF 135. I've been given a quote for Falcon 185/55 tyres but as I've experience scary aquaplaning in the past (I wrote off my last mg!) I want the new tyres to be as safe as possible, are Falcon tyres any good? any other suggestions welcome.
