Can I put iron on letters on a suede scrapbook album?

I am bidding on a suede album from Chatterbox on Ebay and I was wondering if I will be able to use any iron on letters on the outside cover. If I can't, does anyone have any other ideas for personalizing it? Any input or tips would be great!
